“Pure adrenaline!!”
“I never would have believed that I would have gone down the zip wire!”
What are they, where are they, how long
does it take to go on the Cables X-Tremos?:
1.Ziptrek's tour area lies in the valley of San Buenaventura on the shores of Lake Atitlán in the Guatemalan Highlands and covers close to 14 hectares (35 acres) of land, including areas of old oak forest and an old shade coffee grove nestled in the Atitlán Nature Reserve.
2.Ziptrek guests ride a total of eight ziplines ranging from 90 meters (295 ft.) to 320 meters (1050 ft.) along waterfalls, canyons, the valley and the coffee grove forest.
3.Ziplining involves gliding along suspended steel cables, using pulleys and a full-body climbing harness.
4.Tour duration is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and it includes a 600 mt. (1970 ft.) walk with a vertical ascent of 70 mt. (230 ft.) along an old horse trail.
5.The Ziptrek entrance fee is good for all the attractions at the Nature Reserve.
6.Each zipline offers a totally different experience: some generate adrenaline at 60 meters (196 ft.) above ground enjoying the moving landscape, others offer striking beauty in the vistas of the volcanoes and the lake. All equipment (harnesses, carabinners, slings, trolleys, etc) has US and European certification, the design and construction of the ziptrek followed international standards for safety and its has been tested with loads that provide wide margins of safety.
Ziptrek Q220 U$29 (includes entry fee to all attractions)
Comments from our guests:
A fantastic experience, a real rush!!! The guides were kind, ready to serve and patient. It's great that there is this kind of healthy entertainment in Guatemala. Keep it up! Luís Guillermo y María Marta Gutiérrez, Guatemala, 01 de july 2009.
We had a great time with the group of students from Elon University in North Carolina. Everyone was fun and proffesional and most importantly safe! Thanks for a great time. Joel Barrichlow, USA, Jan 20, 2009.
Wonderful views of the Reserve. Spectacular views and deep emotions. Carlos' attention was exquisite and proffesional. Thanks for this experience. Everyone was very kind and proffesional. Stefano Marcelletti, Marcelletti Tour Operator, Roma, Italiy. October 24, 2008.
"The quality of the equipment and the attention of the guides has no equal in Guatemala. Nowhere in Guatemala have we seen such attention to safety. Each flight is totally different and the interest and emotion for those who use them. I recommend them in a special way." Jaime Bustamante, Expedición GT, an adventure program, Guatevisión. Nov 20, 2006.
"I have tried canopy tours in Guatemala, México and Costa Rica and I have no doubt that this is one of the best for the spectacular vistas, the variety of experiences and, above all, the attention paid to guests' safety. They have the best equipment and well trained personnel." Pablo Kummerfeldt, visitor. Dec 12, 2006.
"The Atitlan Reserva Extreme Canopy Tour is undoubtably the finest we have experienced. The height of the cables and the distance between stations is only surpassed by the beauty of the spectacular views of the lake and nature. We have done canopy tours throughout Central America, including several in Costa Rica and Panama. Atitlan is, by far, superior to any we have experienced. We will return with our groups of travelers and artists attending our art workshops." Korte y Anita Rogers, Explore Guatemala, Art Workshops, San Antonio TX, Jan 30, 2007.
